Underneath the rail tracks of the Heimdal train station the intercom echo’s potential destinations. The rails shudder as tons of steel huddle past right above our heads filled with cargo and travellers. Speeding by they remain unaware that, as it rumbles above, so it rumbles below.
A collaboration between noise generators and sound aficionados who will gather together in Heimdal the 25th of May to take you in an expressive sonic transit. Starting at 13:30 in the Heimdal Kunstforening.
PARTICIPANTS
• Ole Nieling’s search for the boundaries of contemporary music leads to the edge where music meets fine art. This exploration delves into both the sonic capacities of a wide variety of audio generators and their timbral cohesion. In this search for the finest sounds and first-class sonic expression, nothing is left untouched and no convention is left standing. This result is renaissance experimental ambient.
• Martin Palmer is a multidisciplinary artist operating in the interzone between subcultures and the institutional. He is working with a variety of mediums such as sound, archivalism, text and installations. As a musician he holds a particular interest in time distortion and sound induced trance states.
• Arnfinn Killingtveit is an identity that operates in the demilitarized zone between musical underground and contemporary art. Arnfinn usually presents himself to the world as a sound artist, but can also take on the role of producer, sound designer, artist, technical assistant, workshop teacher, office secretary, chaos agent, physical labourer and as an expert in internet psychology – just to name a few examples of slightly less sensitive fields of interest.
